Our home is sitauated on a ¾ acre lot. We have many trees and shrubs on our property. We have always tried to make our home bird and bee friendly. There are many plants that work for Bees at different times of the year. As for the birds they go after grasshoppers and other bugs during the warm months.
During the colder months, most of the birds go south for warmer climates. However, some birds still remain here during the cold. There are not many, but there are a few. For those birds, we usually put out a bird feeder with bird seed. Here is our bird feeder, it is pretty basic, but they like it.
There are many fancy bird feeders. Ours is fairly simple, but the birds really appreciate it. We try to take care of those little guys as best we can. They really enhance our quality of life.
