I have used various ISPs (Internet Service Providers) over the years for my websites including this blog. For the most part, they all have been pretty good. They all had good reputations and they lived up to them.

Currently, I am hosting all my websites including this blog at Dreamhost. I used Dreamhost in the past. Why I changed to a different ISP I don’t know, but I came back to them about a year ago. I am glad I did.

I use website-hosted email. That means I have email accounts that are attached to my websites. People say this is not great email, that it does not work well. That was the problem with my last ISP. The email hosted at my website did not work well. Dreamhost’s implementation of their hosted email is excellent. It works well with very few issues. That is one of the main reasons I came back to Dreamhost.

Every ISP has what they call a “C-Panel”. That is where all the settings are located for your account. The C-Panel for Dreamhost is a little different from the typical one that most ISPs use. It takes some getting used to. Once you work with it for a while, it seems to work fine.

Dreamhost offers many add-on services. They have a complete WordPress installation and management service if you prefer. I do not use too many of these services, but they are available if you need them.

I want to mention one more thing. Dreamhost has exceptional tech support. I have used their support people a few times. They are very friendly and the help they provide is timely. They have always fixed whatever problem I was having. You are in good hands with Dreamhost.
